We are looking for a long-term 'development partner' to work with us on a major project which will incur up to 3 months of initial work and ongoing maintenance. Focusing on one particular industry which will be disclosed to you should you be successful, is that this project will essentially allow iPhone users to look up information via GPS or by a search criteria and have the results presented in a list where they will be able to drill down to view the results in more detail. Our project has two main components: 1. Develop the web services allowing the iPhone to communicate with the web server backend. 2. Develop an iPhone application that will allow for search queries to be performed and information to be sent to the iPhone and displayed. What we are looking for in the successful candidate: -Must have experience with iPhone application development. -Must have experience working working with GPS iPhone applications - mostly looking up areas by postcode/zip code/suburb names and plotting search results onto a map. -Must have system requirements gathering experience - being able to look at screenshots and determining what functions are required to be built is a must. -Must have system architecture experience - therefore be able to understand existing structure and know to extract the right record sets are a must. -Must have experience developing with the iPhone SDK -Must have excellent communication skills. We are based in Sydney, Australia so if you talk our language and lingo, we are going to get along just fine. The successful candidate will be required to: 1. Understand the existing database and system structure, which is built in PHP and MySQL. 2. Look at the UI wireframes and determine the functions and dataset needed to be transmitted to and from the iPhone app. 3. Create web services that will allow communication to occur between the iPhone and the web server, allowing information to be displayed on the iPhone. This can developed in either XML or JSON - we would like to hear your recommendations. 4. Use supplied graphics and UI wireframes to design iPhone application. 5. Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. 6. Supply us with daily status updates. 7. Provide iPhone development examples. 8. Type in the words 'ready and waiting' into your bid message to signify that you have read this brief in detail 9. Must provide after support. 10. Send us Apple Store links to the apps you have developed. 11. Customer testimonials signifying their feedback on how you developed their iPhone application. 12. Assist us with submitting the application to Apple and be prepared to make revisions to the application to ensure that the product is approved. The successful candidate can expect ongoing work from us as we are looking for a 'development partner' to maintain the iPhone application, perform enhancements to the iPhone app when we required and perform bug fixes as they are discovered. We are estimating anywhere between a $3-4K budget, depending on your experience and level of quality. |
